Ode to 2010 - Welcome 2011

2010 was one of those years which went by without my even noticing it.... Maybe I was too happy, maybe I was too busy, maybe I was too pre-occupied to keep track of time passing by... All I can say is I loved 2010. But I'm greedy... I want more in 2011 :-P

2010 - I had another New Years which I dont remember. U's jello shots do it to me everytime.

2010 - Began with a three day holiday scouring South Bombay and getting stuff from Indian Cottage Industries and taking snaps at the Gateway of India... Things you dont forget.

2010 - I attended an icing class. Learnt how to make fondant icing and lots of other stuff which I'll be lucky if I ever use

2010 - I got another baby nephew, another cutie again who laughs when you clap your hands

2010 - My other little hooligan of a nephew is growing up, has started talking and can sing all 4 letters A B C D. Anything beyond that escapes him!

2010 - I worked like a dog this year. I don't know if there was any point to any of those things I did. But I worked... all I can ask is did it all matter?

2010 - I cribbed endlessly about not having enough time to read or cook or bake and in the end when I got enough time to do it, I ended up wondering was it worth forgoing all that I was doing earlier.

2010 - I'm trying to slowly get back to reading. It takes some time to get back into the groove after such a long hiatus. Ashok Banker definitely gave me a boost

2010 - I cooked and baked more than I thought I would and I'm really really enjoying it. I thank all my wonderful friends and family for being ready guinea pigs to all my trials... and for those who're not at the receiving end of my food for going ooooh aaaah over the pictures... You guys helped... Lots!!!!

2010 - I started using my camera after almost 3 years... and I realised, it might be old, it might be outdated, but I still think I got the best deal... my Olympus rocks!

2010 - I still like sitting in Landmark Andheri reading books in that corner next to the cookbook shelf. I used to sit on the floor cross-legged but the last time I went there someone had conveniently placed a puffy there. Sometimes I just sit there and do nothing... Don't even read.. just look at all the book spines and be happy... Thats my Happy Place

2010 - I like Tiramisu from Cellini in Hyatt.... Thats my favourite dessert... It just makes me swoon at first bite... that good it is... I don't know why I added that to the list. But I did.

2010 - I turned 30... I had a lovely surprise b'day party thrown for me which I actually enjoyed despite my orginal plan being to curl up under a blanket and completely sleep through 12 o'clock... I guess I have nicer friends than I thought I did

2010 - I make a really mean apple pie.... Call me if you ever want one. I promise to be nice

2010 - Life has moved on... atleast for a lot of people... Me? I think I'm still stuck in time... waiting for that big big gale to rock my boat

2010 - At the end of the year, I started questioning myself where I was going professionally & personally... I'd gladly give up one for the other... I wont say which... 

2010 - Had its share of joys and sorrows... But isnt it all relative? I have no choice but to be philosophical...

In the end, like the lead character from my all time favourite book says I can only say  "All human wisdom is contained in these two words - Wait & Hope"
