Chocolate always helps... No matter what your mood is.. it can only get better with chocolate. And what better than a booze and choc combo to make your day better... I'd made Mocha Brownies earlier... This time I slightly tweaked the recipe and added Kahlua instead of coffee.
Recipe adapted from my 1000 Chocolate Recipe Book... the author of which I have no idea of... But this is one book I can never get enough of... With 1000 recipes to run through I doubt if I'll ever see the end of it.
Ingredients
Eggs - 2
Sugar - 1 cup
Butter - 50g
Semisweet Chocolate - 100g
All Purpose Flour - 2/3cup
Baking Powder - 1/2 tsp
Kahlua - 2 tbsp
Walnuts chopped - 1/2 cup
How?
Melt butter and chocolate in a pan and let cool. Cream the eggs and sugar till light and fluffy. Fold in the chocolate mix and Kahlua. Then lightly fold in the flour, baking powder and Walnuts. Pour into an 8" baking tray. The book says bake at 180 for 25-30 minutes... But mine was not done even after 40 mins...Might be cos of the microwave effect... It takes around an hour.
The Verdict : Its still out on this one... Will update tomorrow. It doesn't look all that great cos I cut it before it had completely cooled and set... So it was a little gooey still and the lines arent smooth.
Update: Verdict out... its....(Drumroll here...) GOOD! Atleast tastewise... and it does have the liquory taste of Kahlua too! Agree it doesn't look that great.. But promise to get that alright next time
