Indulgence!

Thats my Strawberry Chiffon Cake with a strawberry and whipped cream filling and a chocolate ganache. Not the prettiest cake I agree... but quite yummilicious according to all who had it.

Recipe for Strawberry Cake from here except I whipped the egg whites separately and made a chiffon out of it... What would I do next time? Reduce the qty of vanilla extract... A li'l overpowering for me since I use essence instead of extract. Microwave timing - 1 hour

Recipe for Chocolate Ganache from here. Mine dint come out as dark as in the picture though... I did use bittersweet chocolate... Dunno why :-( I sooo wanted a dark glace finish... Hopefully next time it will come out darker...

For ease of splitting the cake, I chilled it before cutting... It helped hold the whipped cream together. So there was nothing dripping and oozing out...

Like I said, it isn't all that great to look at... but when you have it... its amazing...  The final version is also not too sweet so you dont feel too ugghhh when you have it... it just feels sooo horribly, terribly indulgent and decadent. I'm having a verbal block right now... so its not coming out all that well.. But when you have all the layers together in one go, its just an explosion of flavours which you least expect... Quite good I've been told :-P
