Autobiography of a Yogi

This is just for posterity. I've read this book. I got it from Higginbothams at the Calicut railway station on my way to Trivandrum... Its an 8 hour long journey even if you take a Shatabdi.

I'd heard about this book from people who'd heard from other people about how good this book is... how enlightening it is...
I am always in search of enlightenment... so off I went and got the book.

Its quite a nice read, easy read... fun stories about his childhood... atleast till chapter 40. By then, you just want the book to finish... and thats when he goes to Umrika... and after that I dint like the book at all... It seemed a little too materialistic for me... traveling only by Ford car which he got back to India also, having lavish banquets and putting on 50 pounds in a year is not very yogi like... In fact it sounds far from yogi like. But yes, the first part of the book is very interesting especially for people interested in mystic life of Indian sadhus... True, Untrue I'm not the right person to say... Read... but only as long as it interests you... cos truly I find no enlightenment at the end of it

You can read the book online here
